Brainspotting Therapy
In person and online therapy for teens and adults near Minneapolis and across MN.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based therapy that helps you access and process the deeper emotional and physical pain that can get stuck in the body after trauma or ongoing stress. It’s built on the idea that where you look affects how you feel—so during sessions, we use eye position and focused attention to access the parts of the brain where those unprocessed experiences are stored.
By combining this focused technique with gentle support and often bilateral sound (audio that alternates between ears), Brainspotting helps unlock those stuck areas so your system can move toward healing. It’s been shown to be effective for a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, performance blocks, and more.
Whether you're carrying unresolved pain or simply feel like you're not operating at your best, Brainspotting offers a way to go deeper—without having to rehash every detail of the past.

You are ready for deep healing and change. . .
What can I expect in our sessions?
While Brainspotting is a powerful brain and body-based approach, the connection between you and your therapist remains central to the process. Together, we’ll explore your concerns and determine if Brainspotting is a good fit for your goals and the challenges you’re facing.
Sessions typically follow a gentle structure. We’ll start by checking in and reviewing any shifts since your last visit. From there, we’ll spend the heart of the session focused on the area you’d like to work on. As we wrap up, we’ll take time to debrief, ground, and talk about next steps.
During the Brainspotting portion of the session, I’ll guide you in finding a visual spot in your field of vision that feels most connected to what you’re holding. You’ll be invited to focus on that point, and from there, your brain does what it’s wired to do—begin to process and release.
You don’t need to talk much, or at all, for the work to be effective. Many clients find relief in being able to heal without revisiting painful details out loud. We may also use bilateral sound (audio that gently alternates between your ears) to help support your nervous system in moving through what’s stuck.

Is Brainspotting effective and how can I learn more about it?
Early research and client experiences show that Brainspotting can be just as effective—if not more so—than many traditional trauma therapies. Many people begin to notice meaningful shifts and symptom relief within just a few sessions, especially when working with a skilled and attuned therapist.
